I am a 40-year-old husband, father of 5, and pastor of an incredible group of believers. I tend to be somewhat eccentric, but am fully focused on following Jesus and being transformed by Him. My passions and/or hobbies are computers, hunting, fishing, reading, and hanging out with my wife of 19 years, Becky. I hold an Associate of Divinity Degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee. In April 2010 I began the academic journey to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
I am a cancer survivor and have recorded some musings about my journey through cancer treatments. Click on the link for the category 'Personal Cancer Journey' to read my cancer journal.
On my birthday in 2009 I delivered a message at my parents' church in Northeast Tennessee, Boone Trail Baptist Church, and shared how my experience with cancer has changed my life. Click on this link to view a video of this message. It begins with my nephew playing and singing a song that describes my attitude toward the entire cancer ordeal.
